Ive got the new special big big cooler from Nizpro...but also seen Avo's cooler at work on Avo's Jakes Ba and during the heat of 28c and cold night of around 11 that thing was pretty consistent at Heathcote...he ran 11.0's hot or cold and finally cracked a 10.9 ...so I would say that works well and believe it was pushing 400 odd.

I reckon if ya welded 4 monza's together it'll do the job....

Seriously though the best cooler from each of the top 3-4 (plaz, niz,pw maybe even rapid) should do the job..

Mines pushing 395 & handles it no worries. consistant on the dyno & down the track. I wouldnt of gone any other way than APS. They've had the runs on the board for a long time. Theres quite a few not only quick but 10sec cars running there gear. Yes there is other suppliers with excellent options but I dont regret doin what I did.

My tuner was lucky enough to have my mate & my car up there at the same time about 2mths ago & did back to back tests on them (mates using another top brand equivelent size) & my intake temp (c/s) was 10deg cooler. Wont in open forum say which one but if your interested by all means pm me. I dont want to start a blew but cant deny back to back results. I'm always open to new things & im not biased but its worked for me.

there are many different brands to choose from , and the truth of the matter is , that the majority of them will easily make 400 rwkws , some at less boost than others .

The good intercooler has to have a good combination of these 4 factors . Good air temp , minimal pressure drop , fast recovery and light weight . Price and asthetic appeal are some important factors as well . Some coolers excel in one of these factors , whilst other are better in another . Tube and fin vs bar and plate . Its a million $ question , and you will not find the answer on these forums . there are chinese bar and plates we sell , and we also have the super expensive API USA bar and plate cores ( $1000 a core minimum ) . also chinese , Japanese tube and fins , Korean and at least 10 manufacturers in Europe and surrounding countries alone . ( not to forget our aussie PWR and ADRAD boys ) .

Just because a cooler has slightly higher air temp , it does not mean anything . It might make more power , it could be less laggy and come on boost earlier , it might make double the power of a cooler that has better cooling ?? Here is my personal real time example , this car has uses an extensive data log system . My 9.2 @ 150 mph RX3 uses an early cut down tube and fin , it sees 85 - 95 air temp at the end of the track @ 38 psi ( depending on ambient ) . We put in a new bigger intercooler recently ( tried something ) to drop air temps , and the car lost 30 Hp @ the wheels and 2 mph @ the track . We used a tall but narrow bar and plate core , the reason for the better air temp , was that it had more pressure drop . More pressure drop meant the air stayed in the core longer and cooled better , but the end result was not a faster time . The core was not correct , so we will try again . I am about to try out some big doolar bar and plates soon , along with our new heavily finned 09 tube and fins , and hopefully can achieve better air temps , less pressure drop and a better time ( 8.9 sec ) . car is making 850 - 870 flywheel .

We have seen many different fluctuations in results . This is mainly put down to rivalry in the industry , as each individual wants to put his product first .

Best to choose the one that appeals most to you , suits your budget , and might be better to ask this question to your tuner , not the inexperienced forum members .
