(with a lovely turbo and fords tuning)the other I was intreaged by was the Mazda 3 mps turbo. To me they both seem a little too much "Girlfriends Car" like but id like something similar, I Think. The mazda also has all the otpions that ford Didnt think of as per usual. Sadly.I have had a good run Engine wise with all the mods and tweaking ive done to my 6T, They area very strong Very upgradable car.Maybe I should also post this in the Xr5 forum but I wanted similar ppls Ideas.Would the Xr5t be as modifiable as the Xr6T? I really dont care for the ford warranties as where I live there are a few trained monkeys in the svc area.P.s. No offence to you ford M.S. techies out there you rule ,but there is allways an idiot out there somewhere. Cheers

You going to have to spend a hell of a lot of $$$ to get anywhere near the performance of a mildly modified XR6T. Think of the simple formula, cubes multiplied by boost = big power gains.Dont do it buddy !! ...

GO THE XR5T!The VW is good, and the Mazda isnt bad either, but found the XR5 just had a better feel on the road!As for mods, mate check out fordxr5turbo.com the forum is full of modded xr5's!JP, mate not to sure what you are meaning by "You going to have to spend a hell of a lot of $$$ to get anywhere near the performance of a mildly modified XR6T."If you talking equal KW's then yes, of course you are, but if your talking like power to weight, and 0-100 times not much is needed at all... The 5's are modded hard throughout europe, and so many options are now here in Oz...There is a few here that are actually putting out -/+ 500nm from a basic tune and CAI!Not bad for a 5cly!Sure its not going to be the same type of drive as a BIG 4 door Aussie sedan, but oh so much fun and oh so well these things corner... (funny considering they have a sh*t turning circle)...Steve, the only thing I can say is write a list up (like da gurly and I did when looking at her XR5) and do the rounds, Mazda, Honda Civic, VW Golf, even the duratech 5 in a volvo and feel the difference... Audi A3/S3, Peugot, Alfa, Renault, BMW 1 Series. Bang for buck and drive ability I still say the XR5 is the deal!BTW - if you can privately sell the car you will prob find you will get more then on a trade in!and yes these things ARE QUICK!!!! IMO they look better, have better performance stock and have CRUISE CONTROL.... I'd get it for that alone.3 MPS FTW!!!
