Hey everyone,

Just wondering if anyone else has had as much trouble with their Ford?

Ive got an Xr6t 02 had it since new and never had any problems until almost a month after the warranty period ran out a while ago .

Its now hit about the 70thou mark, not 700thou, seventy thousand 101km to be exact.

Its been babied all its life and sheltered from the weather for about 350 days of the year.

Ive replaced door actuators in the drivers side door and boot,

Handles on the inside drivers front and rear passenger.

My glovebox anchor point or hinge snapped so now the glovebox will fall out if opened.

The Bonnet release snaped off from the fuse box.

The drivers side seat side cover has broken about 3 times now.

Cup holder no longer springs out and sometimes locks down.

Drivers speaker in door occassionally works.

Drivers side window dropped out and is now not working at all.

Plastic grommet holding rooflining above rear passenger seat parcel shelf area fell out and dissapeared about twice now.

Rooflining now sagging at the front windscreen area and rear parcel shelf area getting worse by the day.

Inside of the front wheel arch the plastic air deflector came loose and was rubbing onto the tire.

Front chrome ring surrounding the RHS headlight came loose REplaced headlight Asm.

Blew out the PCV valve and assorted vacuum hoses in the middle of nowhere.

Chewed out a cv on the diff and took the axle and other expensive nasties with it.

And after the millions of km's its done , (NOT) it need new bushes in the rear apparently.

Etc ,etc, etc

But it does have that lovely blue oval on it and the favorable Red turbo badge :tonguepoke:

The car has never been mistreated or really even driven hard.

I bought the car to keep locked away, use for the weekend drive to the newsagency etc.

Am I Just unlucky or has anyone else had this much trouble?

Ps lucky this isnt a General moron site , I mean MotDirrrs

My driver side window takes longer to go up and down and the rest is mod related!

Maybe if you had the coin you could trade it in on a near new BF with the ZF auto!

Hi all ! long time listener first time caller ! ive two Ts a sedan and ute , the sedan ive had since brand new has been well serviced and looked after (the wifes car )with no real probs , except for the front sway bar bracket totaly tearing apart ! I still dont know what caused this . if you have a look they are pretty chunky .

The main story is with the ute , got it home the day I bought it(second hand) , there was an after market bov which was ok for about two days then it caused saftey mode to cut in and went like a dog. with futher inspection in the engine bay the cross over manifold had no bolts holding it on, there was a slight ticking noise from the front of the motor and during those two days everytime I changed down into second it poped out of gear!

As you could imagine I was f@*$king pissed so I took it back . I was nice just said fix it please , got it back two weeks later they went over it and under and gave me a list of repairs .

1 new conrods on 1 and 3 BENT from no oil and new crank seal

2 new second gear and input shaft

3 replaced waste gate to std

4 new diff

problems still tweve months later , still poping out of second ( been back twice after first time ) and masive oil leak - new p/s hose only to find I needed a new crank seal again! sedan still good but and for some reason goes heaps harder , probably cause I got stuck with a car somebody flogged sh*t out of !

phtm, the popping out of 2nd is most definatly the 2nd gear syncro. it cant of been repaired properly. I found that double clutching it and matching the revs worked well to drive around the problem, but it will eventually let go all together. the actual gear wont last too long with a broken syncro.

Mine has done 90000kms in two years and hasnt skipped a beat, yet.................

The only thing that has been an issue is a blown subwoofer and cosmetic things like paint chips etc.

Sounds like a couple of you got the friday specials, if I had a car with that many faults id get rid of it asap

Its been babied all its life and sheltered from the weather for about 350 days of the year.

Here is your problem, leave it out in the rain and don't wash it for a few weeks, give it a hard time every now and again and don't be scared of breaking anything. Show it who's boss and it will be good for you ...

Only joking ... Just unlucky mate. I have a BA 03 and it has copped a lot of hard time at the track and a bit on the street and all is well. I even took it offroad once (accidently, bloody Tom Tom!). The front drivers door needs some adjustment, it starts rattling after about 150ks (at the track). The rear windsreen it leaking a bit (probably due to the launches, maybe the chassis is slightly out of alignment) but internally all the plastic bits work fine.

Oh ... my passenger side front window is a lot slower to go up and down that the others ... factory option !!

Look on the bright side, you probably have fewer creeks and rattles than a brand new commodore ... :crybaby:
