All of the tubo bottom ends are the same now mate, stronger rods and all.

Have you thought about building a motor? How far up is the wick getting turned?

only after 340-350.im hoping the stocker will hold.if not im covered.ive thought of going the whole hog but id be better of doing this one on the cheap, have a bit of fun, sell it and get an f6310 when there around for a bit cheaper.what I was worried about was if the short motor I got had been in stock for years and wasnt the better version, can they make sure its current.

No, the part numbers never changed after 10/05. The change in rods was a rolling change. I don't think you would get one that has been sitting around for 3 years, dealers don't carry short motors in stock, they get one sent from the plant. Considering its not a high volume part either I would assume they don't have many sitting around for that amount of time.

Based on what I have seen and heard, including personal experience ... the original BA bottom ends are quite happy at 300 odd rwkw. Mine ran 300 rwkw for over a year and I gave it a hard time (at the track of course).

When you start pushing up over 340 rwkw then you are playing russian roulette!!

But then in saying that, I know of a few that have lasted a number of years running in the high 300 rwkw range but then these guys are not very heavy on the loud pedal. There certainly had some quality problems with the original BA bottom ends.

BF motors from 06/2006 use the stronger rods from the F6, T.V. You BA2 has the same internals as a BA1

From what I thought Ba mk1 rods... weak as

Ba mk2 rods....were slightly upgraded stronger lpg rods

Bf mk2 rods...typhoon bottom end
