Hi people - I've been looking at a BF XR6 turbo Ute. Just looking for some advice.

Are there a lot of different types of BF XR6 turbo Utes? I've been looking at the 'Super Cab' what do these have over standard? Just a bigger cab?

This is interesting.. http://www.nizpro.com.au/cobra_stage1_plus.html - Sounds like a good deal, $5k buys 300rwkw. Are these mods safe for a daily driver?

I hear the suspension on these utes are sh*thouse - Is that true? If so, what kind of kits are out there to remedy? I do a bit of hills driving.

I'd like to take this car to legal off street drags. Is the BF auto up to the job?

Speaking of transmissions, how's the gearbox/clutch on the manuals? I'll probably go auto - Which is quicker off the mark?

Thanks for your help!

-A WRX driver.

the auto in the bf's is very good and very hardy. for 300rwkw you would need a new clutch in the manual.

you can get 300rwkw for a bit less than $5k. intercooler, cat injectors and fuel pump should see you there abouts.

im not to sure on the ute suspension but im sure someone will be along to help with that

there is only one type of xr ute, and that is the supercab btw.

I have a ba mk2 ute along with the nizpro stage 1+ and it handles it fine. I have had suspension done on mine, however I would recommend swaybars to reduce the bodyroll (my next mod).

As said before if its manual you'll need a new clutch they don't handle much more power than stock, mal wood option 3 is a good choice (he's a sponsor on here).

cheers

mark.

yer I have spend around 5 for my power but could have been cheaper if I didn't have a cracked rear turbo housing haha,

The suspension isn't as good as the Maloo utes (my mates VZ maloo handles like a lowered typhoon) but this is because of the solid axle rear end, good for loading up the back with a few bikes and gear but a little bad for handling, BUT... you wont have to worry about snapping axles like on the sedans untill you go nuts with power as theres no CV's to worry about!

All in all the suspension is still nice I do a bit of racing in the country and on long drives its real comfortable.

Other than solid axle and leafs on rear (which I love for motocross) they handle them easy!

an xr clutch wont take more than 280 MAX

The only thing I dont like about my ute is that its noiser in the cabin than a sedan, and yes they can be street driven daily as is the case with my workhorse ute.

are you vippIN off rexnet?

I just sold my wrx to buy a xr6 turbo ute I would never look back rexys are to costly to get power out off mine made 157kw at all 4 and my ute would smoke it and its bog stock as for that kit bugger that go see bruce at heinrich performance in your in sa, and as for noise if you own a wrx these utes are MUCH quiter, I dont think they handle to bad as said do the sway bars and shocks springs in the end its a much better car than the wrx
