When the V6 was going to be used, the ZF was going to be replaced with the Ford US built 6 speed auto that is specifically suited to the V6. AFAIK its not a copy of the ZF but a different box. Now that the V6 won't be around for at least the next 5 years they may have changed plans, I don't know.

But then again a replacement auto would have to be pretty damn strong come 2010, I'm talking stronger than the ZF. :stupid::huh:

Its not a special edition, so it will be both auto and manual. Hopefully its not detuned too much cause it will be a monster.

Whoever believes the ZF is standard in the XR range best check again.

They have never been standard, always a cost extra option.

Correctamundo!

Yes you have to pay extra, but if you order an XR with an auto you will get a ZF

That better sir?

Not corrrect. When I bought mine it was cost extra, and still is.

Cheers

well the only way I can see to end this little discussion on standard or optional is to have the salesman himself sort it out for us!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen................Please put your hands together for MR SENNA_T

In my opinion though you are both correct but with slight variances. The 6 speed is standard on the XR's as an optional extra ever since what, the BA mkII, BUT Whether they are a no cost or an additional cost option is another story that could possibly come down to the dealer you go to! Me personally, I don't truely know as I bought mine s/h.

EDIT>>> damn, I need to stop falling asleep half way through posting a reply!!!
