Hi Steve,

Done a little fuel consumption observation on out TGT. Here are the numbers I have gathered:

All these figures are obtained using 98octane (either BP or Caltex) and using the factory tune (no cheating!) have been averaged out over 14 000km

Surburban commuting, to and from work, approximately 30km round trip 13.1-13.5l/100km, speed average 37-45km/h

Best figures for this use 12.5l/100km and that's keeping it moving gently, staying off boost as much as is possible. No stoplight drags at all.

Real around town stuff.. stop/start and peak hour crawling delivers 16.5l/100km as an honest figure, with the speed average around 20-25km/h with the climate control set to freezing..

Highway stuff and long trips is much better, no trouble getting 10.9 to 11.5l/100km, average speed sitting around 95-105km/h with occasional bursts of speed for overtaking only.

Fun time fanging when the wife & kids aren't aboard pushes it to high teens easily, but then who cares.. average speed not for publication.. he he he

I never bought this vehicle because it has fantastic MPG, but gives lotsa smiles per gallon..

Mal K

cheers thanks for that. was going to drive down from darwin to sydney but the roads been washed away from heavy rain on the barkley. only done around 2500ish ks in the tt since ive had it looks like avragege 14 to 15 litres per hundred. got the f6 to have some fun in. looking atleast 130kmph here in the NT any slower and you just dont get there 110ish down through qld and western nsw.

so was trying to plan my fuel stops. can get aroung the 700km per tank out of my au fairmont dont think im going to get anywhere near that but.

Sydney to Cairns and back avoiding the Pacfic Highway like the plague

Few big throttle overtaking moves up to the speed limit, but 99% of the time on cruise control on the posted speed limit

It is so easy it is to cover big distance with a family on board makes this the best car I have ever owned.

Trip computer reset at start of trip an returned 12.8L/100K with climate control always on and running fridge and 3 weeks worth of gear for a full family on board.

My non turbo under the same conditions last year was about 11L/100K

Trip computer left untouched since new before this trip with 95% Sydney driving an a few trips up the central coast etc was on a dismal 19.5L/100k :(

I am pretty anal about sticking to the speed limit but not shy in taking no time to get to the speed limit after all gota enjoy that boost sometime :P

So ya got yerself a Terri Scotty? Struth mate I'm jealous as.

I was very tempted to go the full monty myself a couple of weeks back on a Demo unit from Denmac Ford. 09 plate with about 5k's on the clock. Wanted $62k but I just couldn't stretch the budget enough unless I took it over 5 years.

Still looking & good to see you're still percolating.

Macka.
