Are the AP twin plates a heavy clutch as my miss drives the car alot

Thanks

if you put in an xtreme your mrs will never want to drive it lol.

I run an option 3, and to drive it you wouldnt even know it has an upgraded clutch in it.

I'd go the AP twin plate or option 3 for under 370rwkw, both of these should keep it wife friendly...

well I like the sound of the option 3 just a bit worried it wont last, but I guess it depends on how I treat it, and I wont really be taking it to the drags so it should be ok, but today when I spoke to spiro he seems to think the xtreme will be fine, but I havnt heard a good thing bout it yet

PM Rapid.

He sells the textralia twin plate. Tough as nails and will last longer (as will any twin plate) at the higher power/torque levels than any single plate.

If you're in Sydney he might even be able to line up a car that has one fitted for you to test drive.

BTW, that's the clutch I have fitted!

I have a Tex Twin plate in mine too, if you want a drive let me know. I previously had the Xtreme Single plate ceramic. It was a piece of  lasted 6 months.

I wouldn't call the Tex a real "missus friendly" clutch though... Option 3 is very nice to drive.

I have the option 3 mate, I plan to be using it up to about 350 rwkw also. It's very predictable and easy to use id say maybe 20% lighter than stock? so yes very wife friendly.

I'll let you know when I break mine.. but don't think it will be anytime soon though heh.

I wouldn't go near a single plate clutch upgrade when there are a number of good twin plate options available.

Mal Wood has more options available than anyone, and has been developing clutches for the Ford turbo for over 5 years.
