bernoo Member 25 Member For: 21y 5m 19d Posted 08/08/03 11:34 PM Share Posted 08/08/03 11:34 PM I noticed the air inlet to the airbox has a bigger opening on the XR6 turbo comp[ared to the XR6 non turbo. If this larger inlet was fitted to a non turbo XR6 would there be a slight increase in power because of more airflow?

I cant personally notice any difference but I reckon its still better than that small stock one and the xr8 AU2 one has a nice tickford sign on it lol

You wont notice any additional power with the snorkel on it's own, but it does look a bit better with the larger snorkel.

The only thing was that the small hose coming off the radiator was touching the snorkel when I changed it so I just pulled it a bit from the radiator side and it was all okay. Im not sure if the AUxr8 and AU2xr8 snorkels are the same. But they are all very similar anyway. You just got to make sure when you are putting the new snorkel to the air box, make sure it clicks in. There is actually a good link on this mod if you want to check it out. http://forums.fordmods.com/phpBB2/documents.php?doc=
