BEFORE! you go, check all your hoses and belts, or have them checked by some one you trust.

You`re not going off road, well, I hope you`re not, so some water ( not 50 litres ) would be an advantage, 10 litres of petrol should take 100 klms or there abouts so that would help too.

A bit of planning at the start of each leg and you`ll be right mate, Its pretty well a sealed road all the way round, ya not crossing the Tanami or whatever.

Above all else, take the time to stop and look at sh!t. Don`t let it become a record run.

Try not to overload the car, don`t take risks, avoid driving out in the sticks at around dawn and dusk ( avoid hitting animals ) but above all else, enjoy it ya lucky bastard, I wish I could get away.

I`d go in the cooler months, but that's just me. I recall going to Perf as a kid in the HQ Premier in the hieght of summer 1976 and it sucked arse.

Not sure if Robbo’s post reminded me or not...but keep in mind allot of the indigenous communities are dry areas.

Some have a limitation on the amount of alcohol you can carry, some outright forbid it. Not sure exactly how this applies to you on your proposed route, but just something else to keep in mind I guess :gun2:
