the previous owner had let it go past service around 10k, its been starved of lube

bit of shaft play in it

If it's been driven with shagged bearings & extensive shaft play there's a good chance your exhaust housing will be cracked... Happened to my last T. If I were you I'd just buy a used one for $900 - $1000 then sell your one as is for $300 or so

Try one of the site sponsors mate, they can do all the work you need.

Alternatively try Precision Turbochargers at Wetherill Park 02 9756 5757

yeah I know most tuners can have it done, but would prefer to go direct to the turbo specialist

Precision is closed until 19th of Jan, gcg have given a good quote for a rebuild anyway,

come on ETM quote me up!!!!

Whichever way you go do not look for the cheapest option. The turbos go through absolute hell and if they are not rebuilt properly they will cause you headaches in the long run. A second hand turbo is a good option if you are not looking to keep the car for a long time.

Mine was rebuilt about 40K ago and when we installed the extractors last month and inspected it the wheels and bearings where in excellent condition.
