The torque of the 4L would be very hard to beat. With current setup I have yet to make a comparison, I would think an XRT would need 400+rwkw to keep up. And alot of the big hp vl's are still single cam heads, if you make everythig bigger valves spring, valves etc. your going to save more money then if you made everything bigger in the double cam head.
