The summernats not returning to Canberra will be the result of Chic Henry's greediness IMHO. $60 to get in on Saturday and $40 for Sunday is a absolute joke if you ask me, he has become greedier and greedier as it has got bigger, and now unfortunately it is now getting smaller due to this. Summernats is not all about the entrants, its not about spectators, its all about $$$$$$.

Entrants pay at least $150 to get their cars in, and for what? So the security guards can tell them how to drive it, and let all the drunk dickheads spit on it, throw their beer at it and kick it, and get the entrants female passengers virtually raped?

And then the spectators pay at least $30 - $40 to get in, and sure they will see some nice cars, but its usually the same stuff every year. This year is the first since Summernats 9 that I havent entered any of my cars, and im a whole lot better off for it. Everyone I have spoke to, entrants and spectators arent returning next year if it is on.

The only events I will go to now to spectate are the Top Fuellers, and compete at events like Powercruise.

Fair call Mick. Powercruise seems to be a little more involved these days too. The benefit of it being on a track is that you can obviously drive without worrying about getting fined. Plus they don't have such a massive blitz on cars arriving at the track.

I'll be entering in powercruise this year, along with some other tough cars - so lets get the Forum members participating!

I just walked in, having been in Canberra since the morning of the 1st.

I want to know if that F6 in the dyno final is one of the guys from this forum.

A mate of mine brought a digital SLR, and we have around 3000 photos to sort through (about 500 from the wet T-shirt comp, where we sat more or less next to the stage).

I still had a great weekend regardless. $175 for 4 day camping pass is not bad, given you'd be paying about $30 a night at a Caravan Park for a powered site.

I was there with seasoned summernats veterans so we avoided alot of the sh*t. Cars were back in the tent by 5pm each day, we left the grounds by 7-8pm headed in to town & hit up the pubs, got back & majority of the sh*t kickers had well & truly passed out by that stage. Thursday & friday night it was extremely tame anyway. It only really got rowdy on the saturday night.

Moving closer to Sydney would be useless. The guys we went down with love the travel because it means being able to justify camping over & making it a mates weekend. There is talk it may be held around Wollongong in future (not sure how) but their wives would expect them home each night. Being in canberra means they can get on the piss & enjoy a weekend with mates.

we went on sunday. I did enjoy this year but have to admit, there is certainly a decline in patronage and entrants this year. Not sure if stats are out yet on attendance but we could tell just by moving around the traps.

Burnout comp was as usual, mental!!! and as usual, Brett Stevens is the man when it comes to burnouts (even though he's a dragway man) I reckon we lost site of him in the cloud of smoke after about being 10secs on the pad!!

Who here saw thw pissy little skid Bray did in the Comaro?? Great car though.

didnt like the green VK that won. Miss summernats was a looker this year at least!!
