Hi Everyone,

Just returned from a trip to Sydney & the NSW Central Coast (from Brisbane) for xmas in the FG XR6T I picked up on 4/12/08.

Its a 6spd manual in Nitro Blue (tinted windows) with the Premium Sound System & Technology Pack.

It was to be picked up on 28/11/08 but was delayed to the 4/12/08 as the guys at Ford took a couple of days to figure out why the XR6T was not developing any boost. After a couple of days they figured out it was the piping at the discharge of the intercooler that had come loose hence not delivering the air to the manifold.

Drove like a dream down to Sydney and to the Central Coast until we arrived at the in-laws (could be karma!). On the eve of 26/12/08 it seemed that the lack of boost problem re-appeared. After consulting Custom Fleet on the 27/12/08, all I could do was wait until 29/12/08 to take it to the local Ford dealer on the Central Coast. I gave them the run down of the car's history as per above and they again discovered that the piping at the intercooler had come loose. About 30 mins later the problem was fixed and I was on my way with the XR6T doing what it should.

The car was again a dream on the return trip to Brisbane.

It's due for its 3000 service on the next week or so and I'll get Ford to check the piping out.

Reason for the post it to see if anyone has experienced a similar problem with any of the XR6Ts out there?

I'd be keen to get your feedback.

I think he was saying, " If a bear sh*ts in the woods, and know one sees/hears, did he really sh*t in the woods" :beerchug:

When this was posted I think maybe 6 people were on line.

Click.... Look at search bar...look at second image...

Back to the topic...

Intercooler Hose, hose blow off

Intercooler Hoses, uh oh

Intercooler Pipe, coming off

Is This Weird?, Or is it just "Fraud" being "Fraud"? < this one gives a good indication visually as to why they tend to come off...
