Oh i feel sick Lifetime Members 8,459 Member For: 16y 8m 30d Gender: Male Location: sunshine coast Posted 30/12/08 03:03 AM Share Posted 30/12/08 03:03 AM ok so I know that the plugs are ment to be gapped to .8mm, but I took my car to elite awhile ago to get a custom tune and they re-gapped the plugs. the car has been running a bit sluggish so I did a bit of maintenance and checked the plugs, the gap size was .68mm? so I re-gapped them to .8mm and went for a spin, the ass end started to overtake me and it feels alot more responsive. why would they have made it .68mm? Posted 30/12/08 05:36 AM Share Posted 30/12/08 05:36 AM When I had my car in to a well respected tuner for a tune and other goodies, they installed plugs with a gap of .6mm. Car ran like crap until I regapped them to .8mm. They said they installed ford LGP plugs with a pre-gap of .7 and regapped them. Dont know why they use a small gap.
