I am sure they have other priorities already so they usually try and get you back when they actually have time to rip it apart. No point not driving it either as I doubt its leaking bad enough not to drive. We have had a few in for their first services and found slight weap or dampness of oil at the bottom of the front of the sump. Appears to be headgasket but gets washed off then rechecked in 1000km. So far none of them have come back with a leak. Only time will tell if this is a common problem or not.

So it's not blown into any of the combustion chambers one would assume, as they said it would be ok to keep driving for another week or so?

If that is the case, then you could assume that this isn't an isolated incident and they are aware of it and have deemed it not detremental to the operation of your car. Only problem being that it will leak oil until it is fixed.

Sound about right?

Also, if it's been 'pissing' out oil, how much have you had to put back in to maintain the correct level on the dipstick?

Why not?

It might not be too bad to stop the car from being used?

So what happens in the mean time? your left with a car you cant use, not f*cken good enough I say

He didn't say he was told not to use it.

My FG is getting this very oil leak fixed today. My wife took the car in so I haven't actually spoke to them about where the oil leak was coming from. It went in for its 15k service a couple of weeks ago and I asked them to find out where the oil was coming from so it could be fixed.

It doesn't leak that much, no drips on the garage floor.

Id be worried about water getting into the oil and vice versa
