I was wondering if anyone who has a flash tuner could help me, if I buy one can the stock tune be returned at any time and if I do this and disconnect the battery for about 5 minutes to wipe the memory could ford service tell if it has had an aftermarket tune. I plan on returning my fg turbo to the stock variables when I get the car serviced to preserve the warranty.

In an ideal world this would be ok, but Ford has worked out that people like you cost them a lot of money in warranty claims.

They can detect if a Flash tuner has been used on anything BF onwards. I am sure in a FG it would be even more detail about when and what was uploaded.

If you want more power, expect to pay for the breakages this will deliver. This is the prime reason I have kept my car stock.

Zap is correct, there is an often used motto around here - "you play, you pay"

This isn't designed to put the fear of god into you, but you have to understand that once you start pushing things harder than they were designed to be pushed, you may have some issues or shortened longevity...

Ford didn't even want to change a faulty door handle on my F6 because of the mods done to it. :stupid:

Mate if you are worried about losing your warranty then just don't mod it, if ford see a way out of something then they will take it.

Go and buy a project car like a BA XR6T and go crazy. If it breaks u can just stick it in the shed until u can fix it.
