All of the guys I know who run the Wog coolers have all removed them shortly after and bought a proper cooler.

And usually in the process, wasted a few hundred bucks in the process.

:Imwifhim:

I was one of those 'people'

these coolers cool well enough for 300rwkw.... in a Melbourne winter.

I fitted a process west after that and havnt looked back, you can get a pw stage 1 or one of Rap1d's kits for under $1k that will do the job.

but if you're only chasing 250rwkw a DDS/Wog/Monza mite be alright if you dont mind a bit of heatsoak in any season other than winter...

The old saying is you pay for what you get.

Rap1ds cooler is a very popular choice and does what it is meant to for a good price.

Putting 2 stock coolers I think was more as a joke for a real cheap solution, as it would be a PIA to install, when a Typhoon would do the same job.

What you do not want to do is mod your car with only budget only in mind. You need to remember that a cooler will mean a Flash tuner, or a retune if you already have one costing money.

Some people will buy several bits, have them installed and then get a tune, rather than one at a time, saving tuning $'s.

You can get good results by buying carefully, but cutting corners will cost you a lot if you blow up your motor.

I have a general rule in mind... the cheapest way, is the dearest way, when you start playing with cars.... spend a little more now on a good quality cooler kit, and down the track when you decide to up your power levels again, you need not upgrade the same area twice, this is where a lot of people tend to spend too much.

Cheers for all your responses.

Think I'll let the DS/Monza/Wog cooler go.

So the best bang for buck would be a Typhoon cooler or as Starughs mentioned, to plumb up another stock cooler.

What other options would you recommend from a bang for buck perspective?

Typhoon cooler is no better, don't waste your time or money, it too is as good as a toaster on the front of the car when you try push the boost. As everyone else has said, save up and buy a proper cooler.
