With injectors (968s) and previous tune from Morepowa in SA only (no cat) - 272rwkw.

With 1st tune from Bluepower, same mods, 282rwkw.

With Nizpro exhaust, 1000hp plazmaman kit (FF91), PW surge tank= 350+rwkw but running boost at 17psi. Exhaust extremely highflowing. boost spikes.

Modified turbo intake, FG turbo housing (not ported) = 16psi 335rwkw

Back to B-series housing ported by Nizpro with larger flapper, 14.5psi at 3,500rpm tapering to 14psi = 325rwkw. Nice.

Exhaust wants to make BIG power. It's been hard to hold the car back to a level that I want to keep the engine and bottom end safe and longevity there. The valve springs have held in remarkably well due to an increased lack of back pressure. In reality, the system is probably really for those hunting higher power figures (375rwkw+).

As for sound, I haven't heard it yet in person but pick the car up saturday. To start with, there were fitting issues but these have now been fixed. I have had the FG perforated tips fitted to reduce noise further. Initially, there was some drone with vibration from fitting issues but these have now been sorted. Noise has been described to me now as being 'livable for a fussy owner' with 2 out of 3 people saying no drone and the other saying it drones. It is so subjective though, and again, I have not heard it yet so can't really comment and that's why I been fishing for opinions on here.

At the end of the day, I realise that you have to be realistic. a full 4" system is not going to be whisper quite now is it.....I just hope that it doesn't create too much cabin noise at cruising revs. I will keep you fellas posted.

THe proof will be in the pudding and I can't wait to experience this 1st hand when I get my baby back.

Yeah, I can't believe it either. The lack of interest registered on this thread dedicated to the new system astounds me.

Here is a clip of mine taken the other days by a friend of mine using his mobile phone. So it's not all that great and the car wasn't being revved all that hard.

I will have better footage posted up by early next week as I pick the car up on Sunday.

F6T,

Can you please explain your FG turbo housing install with a bit more detail? How was this done?

That exhaust sounds quite good.

Thanks,

Benny

Benny, the housings from the FG turbos can be used on the b-series xr6t and F6 set ups. They have a standard wastegate hole that is much larger than the b-series hole already and without the need for porting. they also have a larger flapper. Bear in mind that even standard, the waste gate hole is still not quite as large as a fully ported b-series one (the bore them out to about 38mm and the FG's are about 32-34mm standard).

That being said, some tuners are finding that they have to still port the FG housing to prevent boost spiking and to bring boost levels down. So they are not quite a silver bullet.

But if your modded B-series turbo housing has cracked (and chances are, it has by now) causing your bolts to come lose where they crack near the nut holes, then these are a good replacement part (for a price) as the FG housing have a different nickel content and are much less prone to cracking according to those I've spoken to.

In the end, we went back to a B-series housing (on account of time and $$$ contraints) supplied and machined/ported by Nizpro.

We initially thought that the FG housing was causing fitting issues with the nizpro 4" exhaust for b-series but as it turned out, this was not the case at all - so FG housings are OK on a b-series if you want to put the nizpro exhaust on.

Hope this helps.

Cheers for that F6T.

I am amazed aswell that there has been little interest with these systems. Especially as alot of people have Nizpro gear. Perhaps its because its taken such a long time for them to arrive people have moved on?

So it looks like its upto you up to supply the rest of us, all the gossip on these systems. Things like what mods you have, power increase from before and after the new system was installed, droning noises whilst driving at different speeds, etc etc and of coarse a good sound clip. :stirthepot:

On a serious note, if you could supply as much info as possible that would be great mate. :beerchug:

don't worry mate - they'll be a full review by me on monday. I have a 4 hours drive home on Monday, plenty of highways and 6:00am cool tassie air once I pick it up so plenty of time to experience the system on the car and give a full appraisal.

I will hopefully also have some dyno clips and will get some better sound clips too.

stay tuned.
