For those of you with boost control problems, I'd be cautious on the street. I can control boost ok in my T and using a closed loop control system I still am prone to overshooting the level I have desired on the dyno....if I load it up in 4th on the street I get a little more boost than what I do on the dyno. If your boost control is operating in open loop then I'd be very careful when flogging it in 4th, 5th, 6th. Overboosting will lean out your AFR's and if they're sitting at 12.2 with 15psi on the dyno, then they'll shoot to 12.5+ with a little more boost on a cold night in high gears on the street.

GREGOR,It runs at 15psi with this exhaust and I did the wastegate mod aswell. The guys are scratching their heads as to why mine wasnt overboosting like all the others and possibly turbo is on its way out or out of balance.

Im starting to enjoy this exhaust and the extra power now that the weather has dried up a bit. It drones a bit at low throttle, low speed, low revs but this is mainly due to my stall convertor. The other thing that makes it a bit noisy is that it is pretty firmly mounted with some of the hangers having restricted movement by large hose clamps. So far fuel consumption hasnt changed with normal driving but gulps it when on the power haha.

Full noise sounds tuff with a nice raspy crisp note.

that's enough money spent on power mods for me and enough power for a daily driver.

Your port job may be better than some of the ones that are overboosting.

A good port job can be done with a grinder, infact a CNC port job may not be as good as a hand port job, only more consistant if more thought to flow went into the hand one .

Many port jobs consist of the just hole being enlarged and a bigger flapper, a good job should concentrate on flow to and through a larger hole.

If a good port job is copied into the CNC programme the advantage that would have would be consistancy to every job

Many cylinder head porting specialist still use a die grinder, even the ones who now CNC, initially use a die grinder to port and experiment to find what works and then just copy it into a CNC programme to replicate it for future work to be done in a quicker time and exactlty the same.
