Well for a while I've been looking at my front bar and wondering if it can be modified. I see this nasty bit of plastic sitting in the opening and it doesnt seem to serve much purpose other than to obstruct my intercooler. I think removing it would help airflow more.

Does anyone know if this part can be removed and how hard a job it is? Will it has some negative affect and cause my front bar to implode or will it be fine?

I've circled the bit in question

Grab it by the underside and pull towards you. It will make a cracking noise, but it's ok. And it will look sh*thouse removed unless you clean up plastic behind, I.e cutting it off so it is level with rest of opening.

ive had a look at this myself but theres metal behind the plastic u cant just remove the plastic u would have to cut the metal out too which isnt worth it imo.

Yeh, behind the front bar and specifially in the area circled in the first photo is the steel re-inforcement bar that is covered in this plastic type sh*t...

Take ya front bar off and have a look.

yeah its the plastic absorbers in front of the reo.

just took mine off when I did the cooler. still sits perfect.

the reo should be the same colour as the bar, but theres no real air flow advantage if you do end up taking it off imo.
