I have 22 x 10 on the rear with a +40 offset and a 295 tire on my FG. These about 10mm gap either side on the outside in between the guard and tire, on the inside there is about an inch or two worth of clearance.

dang there a whole lot of space in there then! Therefore you should be able to safely run a 20or22x10 in the rear with a +35 offset and still have 5mm clearance between the tyre and guards . NICE

The Hankook S1 Evos are great tyre for the price, I have them in 19's (obviously somewhat cheaper lol) good to hear you find them grippy too :)
