I thought it would/should be around 30 killowatts.CheersJim Jim,there is no set amount for drivetrain loss on any vehicle. Like we know in the WRX club, very similar cars can make different figures, sometimes by larger margins. Tyre patterns and designs, age of the driveline (vehicle kms), type of oil used (yes) etc can show variables. For eg, look at a stock MY98. Made 90 odd kw ATW (a rough accepted figure) and yet they made 155kw fly wheel. In the case of the WRX, the AWD drivetrain saps a lot of power. Two wheel drive cars do not traditionally lose the same amount of power on a % basis. A car with 18s might do different figures to a car with 17s etc.Andrew Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/5255-xr6t-vs-xr8/page/8/#findComment-72617 Share on other sites
Guest ozzyjim Guests Posted 10/12/03 05:42 AM Share Posted 10/12/03 05:42 AM Cheers mate, I just thought that most rear drive cars lose around 30 kilowatts at a guess, like if someone asks me what the rexy would lose I would say 70 kilowatts give or take a few.CheersJim Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/5255-xr6t-vs-xr8/page/8/#findComment-73128 Share on other sites

It's very underated in it's performance as well as how much fun it actually is. The only gripe is that when drinving hard through the gears 3rd is a real b**ch to get into unless you back off alittle. You have to back off the accelerator before it will go in. It is very frustrating as you lose too much time. I had an embarrasing situation when I had a quick run with a mate of mine who has a VXII SS. Through first and second we were even and then I lost half a car length before I got into third and then we remained relatively even. It'll have to be checked when it goes in for its 3000km first service. It has 2000km now. But I'm happy with that as the XT has just on 2000 kliks so it's still not run in properly yet.
