Nice one Dags.I was wondering how long it would take someone. When I laid the first coat of 'glass I had just watched the first 2 episodes of Star Wars.I thought it looked like the Imperial trooper helmets. Any who. Here's the boost gauge I'll be running.http://i702.photobucket.com/albums/ww30/PH...16122008062.jpg LT5PLA said: does this sit ontop of the icc?Sure does. I needed to get it to the panel beaters today for paint as the painter is going on holidays tomorrow.Unfortunately I don't have enough time to get this finished before I go on holidays and then back to work, so it'll bemid January before it's finished.Luckily I got some pics of it in the car and with the gauges fitted before I busted it.http://i702.photobucket.com/albums/ww30/PH...17122008064.jpghttp://i702.photobucket.com/albums/ww30/PH...17122008067.jpghttp://i702.photobucket.com/albums/ww30/PH...17122008065.jpghttp://i702.photobucket.com/albums/ww30/PH...17122008066.jpgIt doesn't actually sit that high either.I reckon it wouldn't be much higher than the bulge bonnet on the XR8 if at all. That's a bit more politically correct than what Dags was alluding to, I think. It will be as close to the original top panel colour as the panel beater can get it, so hopefully it ends up with a slight metallic finish to it. I dont hae the time at the moment to model a gauge holder in soildworks and then get a mould made, but if you can remade the mould I can get them mass produced easily.Let me know Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/52547-fg-dash-gauge-pod/page/3/#findComment-801380 Share on other sites

All free hand.I used a factory top dash panel and a cheap twin gauge holder off ebay. Screwed the gauge holder to the panel and then covered it in a stocking to get the nice flowing lines. Then came the resin. I didn't use any mat due to my laziness in not wanting to clean it up afterwards, and the resin seemed to work well.I finished it yesterday but it will be with my panel beater for a few weeks while I return to work.As with my head unit surround. They both turned out quite well I reckon. Can't wait to get the painted products in the car.I've done a few fibreglass projects in the past. Mainly car audio sub boxes and trim panels. Bit of a hobby really, and no-one else to do it where I live. These two will be one offs, and if I make another gauge holder I'd be looking at trying to get three smaller gauges up there.Time will tell.
