5 sets of rear tyres & a clutch in 11,000kms must be some sort of record for the FG I reckon! I'd hate to be the poor buggar that buys it later down the track...

In regards to the clutch rattling, there is a fix for it. The gearbox has a small rattle, but if you hear the clutch make a rattle sound when you put your foot on the pedal and off - ford know about it and can fix it.

Have you committed to the new clutch from Ford?

If I were you, I would be looking at other options from other manufacturers. Pretty sure Pat said that he drove a BF GT with a Mal Woods option 3 in it, so maybe it would pay to see if there are any options out there yet for the FG.

Put it this way, there is no way I would be paying Ford $2500 to fit a clutch without any specs or not knowing anything about it...

Whose to say its not up to the task and lets go in another 6 months and your up for another one!

ok ill get the specs :)

If you are going to be drifting then I would be looking at the heaviest clutch you could find.

haha the FG isnt drifting again. just did it because the EF wasnt on the road.

but now ive got the drag car. Lol

FG is just sticking to tarmac events, not drifting

Specs would be good mate... just dont wanna see ya get shafted & have the same in future coz you trusted Ford's word that 'it will handle the abuse'. They would love to screw ya for more money again in future mate - Fact!

Im not sure that it would fit, but for a little more than $2500 you could get a new AP twin plate (made for BA & BF I know). You could definately get a Textralia Twin Plate and most of the Mal Woods range for that money aswell (again, for BA & BF and not sure if anything is available yet for FG). These clutches have runs on the board so if you were told they 'can handle the abuse' then you would trust that.

Im also really perturbed as to why they said no warranty if you told em it let go when cruising... If you kicked up a bit of a fuss and had a sad at them for it letting go so early with normal driving, you'd think they would help out with warranty!
