Battery To Boot..

Agree with the boys above - earthing issue!

As mentioned make sure the earth is larger then the positive!

Its not a bad idea when buying power cabling to make sure you get an extra 3+ feet worth and used the same cable as your earth, dont worry about the colour just wrap it in black electrical tape if you want!!!

All installs I have done, run power the same way rapid mentioned... Make sure your earths are 'SOLID' and there is no paint or rust, or any other crap to effect the connection - that's one of the biggest and most common issues people have!

last night, I made the negative shorter, sanded back the paint in the boot.. and bolted it down.. aswell as the one in the engine bay.. I wasnt going to do the one in the engine bay.. but after I did the back.. I got a secuirty error on my screen.. but after I did earth the one in the engine.. its all sweet now.. starts first time now.. no problems, no more speedo stoping.. and the install looks heaps better...thanx guys for all your replys.. bring on the 4inch intake and airbox.. woooooo

Do us all a favour and go get it all checked by a licensed Auto Elec will ya....cant help but think your next threads gunna be on how your phoons a smoking burnt out pile of ruble sitting by the side of the road.... :thumbsup:

On a side note, I was on my private road this morning and some person in a said VE with exhaust and sh1t and a chev badge tried. LOL I was in a silly mood this morning so I screamed out the window "It's not a I <3 Bananas chev!!!" and his passenger almost fell out of the car he was laughing so hard!

where do people mount the battery's in a ute? Just mount it in the tray somewhere?

With a Prowest Battery relocation kit. Sits under the original battery tray, kind of inside the RHS bumper/gaurd.

It has short cables to the connection block so no more power loss, alternator whine or any other cons assosiated with the Boot kits.

oh, I got my mate who is a sparky to do all the wiring joining.. all I did.. was ground the wires like u would.. and its running more than perfect.. there wasnt much mucking around.. just the negative wire was too long on my behalf of being stubburn.. he did ask y I didnt ground it in the bay.. just didnt think it having it longa would play around with the startss
