Sorta as if you were getting on and off the throttle. Been told that it may be turbo flutter. How do I rectify this problem? Turbo is the original with a 0.7a/r TO4E housing. N flapper mod... Try a new BOV and see how you go. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/52485-turbo-flutter/#findComment-785912 Share on other sites
ardi Member 117 Member For: 16y 11m 18d Posted 13/12/08 08:11 AM Author Share Posted 13/12/08 08:11 AM cheers. Got an APS bov. Running bout 22psi max. Though its 'fluttering' well before that. Anyone know of others having probs with the aps bov? Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/52485-turbo-flutter/#findComment-785919 Share on other sites

Must be making some grunt.Yeah, I'd be looking at adifferent BOV or a stronger spring. Not when he backs off throttle.Yeh, im with Phantom - Try a new BOV.If this doesnt work, check everythin over for boost leaks in your piping and joiners although I dont think you would hear a flutter if it was this... Try blocking up the 2 hoses of bov and see if it stops Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/52485-turbo-flutter/#findComment-802770 Share on other sites

All BOV's have a spring inside them that is pressure rated. You can try screwing the top of the BOV in, which will increase pressure on the spring, which might solve the problem. If not you will need to get a BOV that will hold presure up to 22psi (or in Daniel4's case 12-13 pis). Some of the BOV's you get from autobarn are cheap and nasty, and only made to run on 4psi of boost on little buzzboxes, not big 4l cars running 20+psi.If replacing the BOV doesnt work, check all your silicon hoses that none of them have cracks or splits, mine had a split through one of them and it was causing a similar problem.
