You are aware that you cant run aftermarket injectors on the generic tunes you get with the flash box?

injectors are relatively easy to fit although quite fiddley just remove the throttle body and the two support rails then the 4 bolts for the injector rail itself then you will be able to pull the rail with injectors out enough to change them one by one you will also have to move the vacume hose etc and your BOV if you have a stock one and removing the brass fitting wil give you more room also

but as Dirty mentioned you cant run injectors on your stock (generic tunes)

using the flash 2 is easy just plug in and follow instructions it tells you what to do on the screen really is idiot proof

So if I fit injectors, I would need to get edits to suit...

Would I need the model etc of the injecotrs and see an "Edit" man, or are they available from somewhere else ??

I have heard the individual tunes done on the specific vehicle while on a dyno, not using a Capa, but directly programmed somehow are way better for performance as they take the specific characteristics of your car nto consideration. It there really much differance ??

I have also been told not to use Shell fuel. apparantly a dyno with Shell or a Dyno with any other brand equivalent octane is like chalk and cheese.

Is this paranoia, or is there truth to it ??

Ok Thanks Guy's if only I had read this before fitting, it runs but does not do well under load when I ordered it from Capa they said that it would run well with the 12psi tune around 280rwkw how ever it does not. So flashed back to standard still the same with the new injectors so.......What is the best course of action put teh standard injectors back in until I can get a custom tune???? Last time it had a miss like this it was the plugs so do I take it to ford and have a cry as it is under warranty and is was only serviced again 3 days ago? What do you all think

The unit I got is the Stage 2 Kit from Capa and they said the tune is matched to the injectors

Side note this car was tuned buy power chip australia they remove the ECU from the car and tune it out of the car. I t is the Gold 98 with 10psi boost for those in the know:-)

YES YOU WOULD

NOT TO SURE WHAT YOU MEAN THE TUNE USING THE FLASH BOX DOES TAKE ALL CHARACTERISTICS INTO ACCOUNT IT IS STORED IN THE FLASH BOX SO IT CAN BE CHANGED YOU CAN HAVE THREE DIFFERENT TUNES SUCH DRAG RACE AND VALET

I have also been told not to use Shell fuel. apparantly a dyno with Shell or a Dyno with any other brand equivalent octane is like chalk and cheese.

UNSURE DIFFERENT IN DIFFERENT PLACES

Is this paranoia, or is there truth to it ??

sorry for caps not shouting was just trying to differentiate

MATE I WOULD BE CALLING CAPA AND EXPLAINING YOUR SITUATION AND ALSO BOOKING IN FOR A TUNE ASAP

Mitchbek - My understanding of it, is if your car is not custom tuned to allow for bigger injectors and the injectors have not been scaled correctly to your application, your car runs really really rich (too much fuel) and it will probably melt your cat...

There could be other implications (may ruin the spark plugs) but im not sure... Book a custom tune in with one of the site sponsors asap or take the bigger injectors out and re-install the stockies until you have booked a custom tune.

phredd - If I have read your question correctly, yes it would be very advisable to get a custom tune instead of running with the generic tunes. There is a big difference between the 2. Obviously a custom tune is customised to suit your car and all cars are different in some way. If you read up on generic tunes on this forum, you will find that they do not always run correct AFR's and can result in your car leaning out and risking damaging your engine.

zomg....

GENERIC TUNES suit a STOCK car.

if u plan to fit injectors u need a CUSTOM TUNE so the injectors are scaled to suit.....

put the stockers back in asap and just use the normal generics until u get a custom tune done.

in old terms youve basically stuck a 750 double pumper carby on a sigma.
