Hey all,

I tried a search but couldn't locate anything specific to my problem. In the mornings my XR6T keeps turning off whilst warming up. No warning lights come on the dash, no beeps, it just stops running...Its happened twice now and I have no idea what could be causing it I.e. fuel or sensor etc.

When driving at norm temp its perfect with no stalling but can occasionally idle rough. My car is a BA MkII 6 speed manual.

Has anyone else had this problem? I would like to get an idea of what it could be before going to Ford. I still have warranty until April 09.

Apart from that still loving the T.

Thanks for the help...

:bum:

But if you want to start hunting this down yourself before you go out I would check the alternator first, also have you replaced the battery? In my old AU XR6 when I changed the battery it would idle pretty low and come close to stalling and would do that till the computer fixed itself. How is the car idling st startup would you say it's lower then normal

Thanks for the ideas, but its starts normal and then idles for several minutes, then off. I am definitely taking to Fraud though as the issue may start to get worse.

My guess is its the Throttle Body or the Throttle Positioning Sensor. Search for these on here as there have been many posts on it.

I've only had my car for a few months, so im still learning alot, thanks to this site and all you guys :)

But I have experienced what you are talking about. I own a BA 04 4speed and have had this happen it occured twice but each time it happened was a few days( like 2-3 ) after having removed the battery. So if u have removed your battery or have had it go dead then this might be it. Like I said, it happened twice and then it stopped occuring.

Might have something to do with it, if not, then I hope it isnt to serious :(

Goodluck

as was said, from the sounds of it most likely the Throttle Position Sensor..

Mine was stalling under acceleration, at lights, idle hunting all randomly.. some days it was fine, others I'd have to restart the car 5 times in one trip..

It's pretty easy to fix fortunately
