How much power can you get out the BA mk2 engine before you should look at changing or upgrading the internals?

I have plazmaman XR6 Ford Intercooler kit - Stage 1 , can this be repiped to allow me to put the air induction straight onto the turbo , what options can I do with this kit without having to buy all new parts?

If I do make changes will the engine tune I have need retuned as no one over here worked with xr6t falcons before as ive been told that the throttle responce is much better.

Generally the max for BA motors is the low 300rwkws. Some have gone higher but its really like playing with fire..

The kit you have is really only designed to directly replace the standard piping, so customising it would probably be just as expensive as getting a RAPID kit sent over there!

Do some research in the sub orums about the various intake kits that are available and you should get an idea to what you need.

If you leave the exhaust the same and only change the intaek, your tune should be fine.

what sort of power are you chasing?

500bhp should be pretty straight forward and give you a lot of bragging rights with the local 4 cylinder boys!

On pipe routing and airbox options I would speak with RAPID (Chris) from Rapidsystems who are a sponsor and have their own subforum. That Plazmaman core should flow 350rwkw no problems.

Re ECU tuning, if you are chasing power then most certainly yes you will need something done there. I know there are tuners in the UK who tune the Vauxhaul Monaro and most likely use a Flash tuner....the same set up can be used on the Ford. There are also some other piggy back options that could be used in a pinch. I am sure a decent solution can be found for you.

Injectors,Surge tank and fuel pump with connections can be sourced from OZ easily.....likewise an off the shelf X Force exhaust system, Clutch, Valve springs etc.

I'd imagine a modified XR6T would blow some minds over there......especially spooling up on high street!!

that kit you have there if it has the around the battery pipe fitted with a good exhaust system and injectors will make 320 rwkw easy, its a very high flowing cooler. (I have done it.)

if you turn the pipe around it will perform better, but as said above mabee a rapid kit could be shipped to you with all the parts needed to make bulk horespower.
