Going by my mates additude to motor vehicles (like father like son) , the Boss 260 won't cut it in stock tune anyway.Sorry if this has been covered previously-was in a hurry.Thanks in advance.Chris.... MaTTe Member 143 Member For: 16y 3m 21d Location: Perth Posted 06/12/08 12:44 PM Share Posted 06/12/08 12:44 PM when I converted my car from auto to manual, ford struggled with the ecu.. first they said I had to use my original auto ecu, then they told me the couldn't use my auto ecu and had to put the manual tune onto the manual ecu..3 days later I got my car back from what I thought would be a simple procedure.. Part of the problem was that ford HQ gave no help on what tune was what.. there are literally thousands of different ecu maps from BA-BFIIThe wiring harness can be modified to suit the manual box, I don't know how, but can be.. The auto ecu can supposedly be changed to suit, but ford couldn't do it for me.. I had a manual ecu anyway, but it sounds like you'd have to source that..I've heard if you remove the neutral rev limit it should all work, and have the car set to run in neutral..I'd say call ford and ask to speak to the head technician, he should be able to give you an idea of his skill and knowledge.. maybe speak to a few workshops..
