Can you give us a bit of a review of the Textralia twin plate clutch? These are the beez neez if you talk to anyone with a LSx. How does it compare with an F6 clutch, if you've driven one?Have you bought new tyres yet?Cheers, Alvaro

Took it out for a little hammering lastnight and it feels really solid. Only thing letting it down is my lack of confidence under the squirmy tyres! The Tex twin plate... Yeh a mate has one in his 440rwhp VX SS and swears by it!Iv only done about 150 km's on it so far, its quite shuddery on take off but hopefully once it beds in a bit more most of it should go away.If the shudder does end up going away, ill be real happy with it!It feels nice and solid going through gears though, once your on the move its real solid and feels good. Its pretty heavy but I think that's to be expected with the amount of torque its able to handle and Twin plates usually are in comparison to single plates. Iv only driven the F6 Twin Plate AP on one occasion and it was in a stock F6 and a while ago too. The AP is a fair bit lighter and also rides really well but I wasnt prepared to pay what they are going for new and there werent very many 2nd hand ones available when I ordered the tex. Maybe Senna would care to comment on his thoughts of the Textralia, has been running it a lot longer than I have and has thrown it down the strip a heap of times too / given it heaps more sh*t than iv put mine through... Grabs really hard and has a good action. Yes it is heavy and it doesn't like to be ridden at low rpm, but its more of a competition clutch so that is to be expected. They loosen up a fair bit after a couple of thousand kays and the pedal gets a bit lighter. One thing I do is just use a few more revs to get started, then you are free to smash through the gears!
Guest Guests Posted 05/12/08 03:09 AM Share Posted 05/12/08 03:09 AM Your's has unsprung plates doesn't it Scott? If so, it will have shudder forever but you know it will handle your current power levels with ease

Cushion Button clutch, custom intercooler, K&N filter, new capa flash box 4" chrome piping, value springs and injectors replaced pushing 15psi only has around 350rwhp

Should I have different plates?Senna - That was actually your cue, knew I could count on ya haha. I have found that it likes a few more revs on taking off, shudders like f*k when the revs are low or given the same revs on take off as the stock clutch.Cheers for that RAP1D... good to know Edited 05/12/08 05:50 AM by Dirty32
