Hi all...hope someone can help

I've noticed marks on the transparent perspex screen in front of the main instrument panel gauges. At some angles of the light it can be quite noticeable and it is starting to really bug me. I've tried to gently wipe them away from the outside but I think that they are on the inside surface. I would like to have a go at removing the perspex screen only if it is relatively easy and I don't stuff the whole thing up.

I've noticed three screws on the underside of the cowling above and in front of the screen. If this is where I make a start, how many more steps are there in removing the screen. If someone has already attempted this, can you give me the steps on how to get the screen out and then back in again. Any guidance would be most appreciated.

yeah mate 3 screws up top then, drop the steering colomb and wigth a long pbhillips head thdere is one either side of the colomb behind the rubber thing between the dash and the colomb. remove these and it will pull out and tilt down, then undo the wiring connectors and the whole instrument cluster comes out. usually the front piece including the clear plastic either unclips or unscrews. be carefukll not to touch the gauges as the mat black loves finger marks and they are a bitch to get off. if u do put finger marks, gently wipe with rubbing alcohole

goodluck

Just curious if it leaves a fault code in your ecu showing it has been tampered with?

Been wanting to fit a FPV facia to my cluster but havn't done so because of this fault code.

No codes registered when replacing the cluster, You can get a new perspex screen from ford about $50-60 Part Number BA 10887A.

Thanks ORMSBA

Not worried about the cost...

Just don't want to stuff the dashboard (the wife will kill me for "F"ing around with it.

But it really bugs me when at some angles of the light you can see marks that you can't get to.

The average person probably won't notice but I know its there...arrrrgh!!

If you were in melbourne, I charge $60 to replace the screen and check calibration.
