I managed to destroy my garage door opener. I just stumbled on a link to these. Seems like an awesome idea and it only costs 80 bucks Anybody tried them?

All you do is change the button in you garage to the one supplied, fix the transmitter behind your headlight spliced into the high beams, and hey presto, flash your lights twice at the door and it opens/closes.

I think it's just the transmitter is hooked up to your high-beam circuit - not a case of flashing the lights at the door or anything :stupid:

PS: Apparently if you hold the transmitter up to your head it gives better range

Same with the remote keyless entry for your car.

It's strange... it actually does work...

Yeah its just a hardwired transmitter, you dont actually have to aim the lights at the door. Just means no more remote batteries needed, no more searching under the seat for the remote, and no more remote being moved into the missus car and forgotten about until I get home from work in the pouring f*ckin rain.

Im going to get one, Ill let you know how it goes.

So what do you do here....smash a hole in your windscreen and stick your nose on the bonnet....or just suck on the indicator stalk....

:stupid:

Was trying to find that old thread but gave up. Something along the lines of "Can I extend the aerial on my garage door so it will open while I'm further up the street so I don't have to pause for a millisecond and wait for the door to open...as it cuts in to my porn time"

Can't recall who that was

Sounds good for when you are working out the front mowing the lawns or fitting your under battery pipping, you can just flash your lights to get in, then run back through the house and pull the emergency release, lift the door manually and go out, then remember WTF you were doing.

EASY AS PIE...
