Hey all

Just got a couple of questions bout my exhaust

1st Q: had my car up on the hoist at school yesterday to work out where this annoying rattle is in my exhaust and discovered what looks (sounds) to like little bits have broken off in my cat and are rattleing around in there......anyway back to the question.......where is a good place to go in S.E melb to get a new cat and what sort of one will I be after? im planing a bunch of mods for early in the new year so I may aswell get a good cat now. Also, what sort of price's would I be looking at?

2nd Q: when I had the car up on the hoist I noticed alot of heat shield around the exhaust, is that safe to remove?? and is it just as straight foward as it seems?

cheers guys :spoton:

Don't remove your heat shielding. It's there for a reason.

If you plan on getting a cat now, plan on a tune as well.

You can't just upgrade the cat without it or you'll run the risk of engine failure.

dont know about the engine failure as I was running a dump pipe and cat before I got my tune, but when I got mine done it brought the check engine light on and when I checked the code it was cat efficiency. With the progressive learning computer in the FG series it recognised that my cat was less efficent than before and put the warning on ( lucky I have the x-cal 2 flash tuner and I can remove the fault light and got the handpiece reprogrammed to eliminate the problem. And yeh, keep the heat sheilds on mate.
