4spd Auto Coolers

Hey all, managed to get another stock auto for my xr6t for free so cant complain. Had the tune adjusted for better shifting and feels alot better so far. Just wanted to find out what sought of trans coolers people are using when having big intercooler aswell and where they fit them. I want to bypass factory radiator cooler and just run a descent size trans cooler. A couple of mates are running cooler behind drivers side driving light and have cut a hole under the bottom right hand side of bumper for air. Want to find out what others have done or found to be best option. Hoping to get 6months atleast out of auto before stronger rebuild, so trying to look after it and have a cooler for future auto aswell. Thanks.

I spent a bit more on mine ,you will find a big open area behind the rear left hand wheel that's where I put mine

ran braided lines from the trans back to the rear of the car and fitted a big cooler with a thermo fan ,it works well with temps only going over 150f when it really gets a hard time even then I haven't seen the temps go over 180f

you fit it flat up behind the wheel and the thermo fan on the underside

if you want some pics let me know I will get some for you

its been there 12 months

I didn't fit it myself I got blacktrack to do it ,they wern't confident that it would get enough air in front of the front wheel so I had a look under the car and found it was the best option to put it up the back

any thing you wanna know about the install let me know and I will tell you

Hi guys, I purchased a PWR trans cooler with a BA fitting kit off ebay recently but have been a bit too crook latley to fit it.

Comes with specific fitting kit for the BA & sits just off the radiator.

It is advised to fit the cooler in front of drivers side thermo fan so that the cooler can still get air in traffic conditions.

It must be remembered that the cooler will not have the benifit of the radiator coolant to help keep temp down in hot city traffic driving! So its a good idea to fit in front of 1 thermo fan.

Some more expensive trans coolers come with their own thermo fans!..........B & M I think it is!

Cheers,
