TEDracing Member 321 Member For: 16y 3m 23d Gender: Male Location: in a house or shed Posted 07/12/08 11:08 PM Share Posted 07/12/08 11:08 PM I think that's a reasonable price considering they would've more than likely dropped the rear cradle which can take some time Well they had to drop the cradle as the bearings were done aswel. side note do you know if the diff centres are prone to being noisy? had the bearings done at 110k which were making noise at 80-100kmphr quite loud that you could here in the cabin over a low volume stereo. after bearings bushes done still have noise but its not as noisy. the mechanic wasnt to happy as he said the centre looked perfect compared to some hes seen but it had noise. due to that issue he said would give me a good price to do new centre ( higher gears) down the track when I start chasing power.I have seen it sort of mentioned on the forum just wondering is all I can put up with it for now just abit disappointing that its still a young car ( in my eyes) with issues. Hi R SPECMy guess would be wheel bearings not diff bearings to give you the shakes but im no expert. Also have you looked at your rubber? If the tyres start to de-laminate (fall apart from the carcase ) they would give you wobble/ shakes aswel. The reason Ford engineered the rear bush to be so soft, is to mask this noise.R-spec, not sure about your vibration, sounds a little worse than just the usual diff whine? Perhaps the rear cradle hasnt been re-aligned correctly. A special tool must be used to ensure the cradle is re-fitted square with the chassis.
