Hey all

Its just starting to annoy me that my bumpers are slightly darker than the rest of the car!

Has anyone else noticed this? mine is sensation and all the pictures I take just wont show it.

Have asked other people and they say dont worry to hard to fix :(

IMO it should have been right before hand.

Or have they been resprayed?

Timmy

when painting plastics the colour will always look slightly different, almost all new cars have the same problem, but if its very noticeable try taking it back to ford, maybe they will attempt to get it fixed

It does look darker than the body panels, but mine "ego" colour doesn't show the difference. There shouldn't be any excuses as the colour should be the same all over. (unless the dealer scratched the bumper then respray it afterward)

My FG is EGO, can not notice any variance at all. The only difference is when in the sun makes me drool more. Also have a FG in sensation and there is definitely no difference in colours. Take it back and tell them to fix it.

cheers

All manufacturers have this problem, I've even seen it on brand new Audis and they are top notch for quality. Its due to the different surfaces of metal and plastic, and the way the paint sticks to it. Silver and other light metallics are usually the worst.

The FG's have been pretty good so far but the VE's are woeful. I've seen a red Clubby that looked 2 shades different from bumpers to guards.

Unless you have a huge variation in colour don't worry about it.

I know the difference you are referring to and like others have mentioned it's not a Ford thing, I've seen many a luxo car with the same variations. Having said that though, my FG in Breeze seems to blend in well between body and bumpers with no obvious difference.

Gents

A mate just looked at the ute and noticed that the bumpers paint has no metallic in it.

This would explain the huge colour difference. Does anyone know if they should be

metallic as well?

they should definately have metallic in them... that's definately not normal, and is actually quite confusing... I'd be taking it back to ford, and demanding some answers asap...
