1995 with a mate (him driving) in an old orange XC about 2100 h, driving back to Puckapunyal from Frankston. He rear ended some sh*t box at the last set of lights back then just north of Broadmedows. Result a few dents and scratches and a 10 cm gash in the radiator. Drive to servo fill up with water it is pouring outr alomost as quick as we can fill it. Me thinking I am smart races into store and buys two dozen eggs. cracks em puts them in radiator and continues to fill. convinced of my genious we continue to drive. About ten kay up the road, we are now in one dead XC and spend the rewst of the night hitching bac to Pucka before first parade.

That is definatley A+ for effort: I have heard of the eggs in the radiator trick,Maybe it was just whites, or was that just the shells? or was it, how to cook a road side breakfast.

some others from times gone past:

Bannana peels in the diff- runs quieter.

Saw dust in the gear box.

For flat tyre- Break bead and pack with long green grass (dry grass turns to powder).

BA Typhoon, H&%v(ys @$n#e Road, Townsville - Time 2-45am

Had just managed to average 200+kph for 35 minutes.. Top speed 296

Heading NW.. Didn't look at fuel consumption IE 99.9 l/100km.

Fuel warning comes on to tell me 40kms till empty... Had 120km back to town..

Limping home run out approx 60-70km from civilisation.

Climbs mountain to get phone reception. Calls Ford Care to send fuel - OK

Calls Fordxr6t.com member to discuss outcome. See's fuel being delivered from way off in distance. Walks back down to car. Half way down mountain see's fuel delivery turn around and head back to town prior to reaching said BA F6. Climbs back mountain and tells Ford Care to turn around and keep driving. Climbs back down and waits for 30 minutes before fuel arrives. 2.5 hours later back on road...

Fordxr6t.com member tells everyone on site... Worst breakdown for me..!
