PICS PLEASE!!! :)

No probs - here are some pics:

F6 Cluster - fits straight in without any mods and works (requires VIN number programming in cluster first to match vehicle):

FPV Starter Button (painted piano black) with front video LCD on/off switch (using Ipod Classic video input for movies/music videos):

Post up pics of the surrounds once painted if you can, would be very interested to see how that comes out!

Here they are painted piano black - been doing some serious country driving so I have not put them on yet.

They were professionally done.

Growler kit from Ebay for around $500. Fuel economy: gained approx 100K's out of a tank and a definate growl when planting the foot - highly would recommend this addition to any FG Turbo. Took about a week for the computer to adjust to the high flow intake, and gave me over 300+ RWKW with just my tune as well.

Front video switch turns the ASL RGB box on / off the front LCD screen only (between video and Ford system). I used the other side of the start button panel to mount the switch. I then used an Ipod video adaptor to plug my Ipod Classic into it to play what ever I like, using the AUX for the audio. My reverse camera had to be disconnected for the time being as ASL are waiting for parts to make a bypass adaptor cable for the G6E Turbo vehicles as the ASL RGB box uses the same bank of pins and connector that the reverse camera uses, and I was not going to hack into my reverse camera harness to run both. I have also split the video signal just before the ASL RGB box and run a another video feed to the rear headrest monitors as well.

Thanks for the photos! Looks great!

I have two questions...

1) What colour does the FPV dash light up? is it blue? (just wondering how it goes with the white backlighting everywhere else...)

2) You've got a tune put in your car... How does the car go with the lack of LSD? Does the new found torque over power the Traction Control and does it shut down? or does the TC ACTUALLY work to control wheel spin and keep the car going? The reason I ask is that if it causes the TC to shut down, then the car will be useless (as far as acceleration goes) until it is restarted (TC shutdown) as it has an open diff which relies on using the rear brakes to counter the effect of having an open diff.

I'm really thinking about puttiing a tune in when mine arrives, but I really want to make sure that the open diff is still useable with a tune in the car.

Cheers!

The dash does light up blue but I was used to a FPV dash before. No one has ever picked up that it is blue at night. Some controls on the ICC unit light up red and blue as well, plus the blue seems to be easy on my eyes compared to the white as I do a lot of country driving at night.

As for the tune, the TC still works fine with the current setup. I will look at a LSD down the track though when I look at boosting the power up further (aim is 350rwkw), but for the time being the open center diff works fine with the current power, as long as it is not thrashed!

Thanks for that. So in a Nutshell, your TC does not ever shut down so that you have to turn off the engine and restart it right?

Also you said the open diff is ok "as long as it is not thrashed". Do you mean that you are able to overcome the TC and just smoke the tyres up if you just hammer it from a standing start? (with your +300rwkw tune)

Cheers.

I have never had the TC shut off by itself and I have driven in some extreme conditions in the last month alone (flash floods in Broken Hill etc..).

The only thing that did shut down by itself was my ICC unit which was replaced a couple of weeks ago.

As for the diff, if you thrash it, the diff will stop operating correctly or as it should over time. Eventually only one wheel will spin which will mean a diff rebuild or replacement.

As for smoking it up from a standing start with my top tune, yes I can with the TC off or on, more so with it off. I am not in the practice of doing this as 19 Inch tyres cost a bit too much to replace and if you get caught, you may have the first G6E Turbo that gets impounded under the hoon laws by the police (here in SA anyway!).
