Timing gear like this one Danny? This motor also needs the new timing chain guides, and needs valves on the intake side as it came out of time slightly. The head is in good condition though, luckily...

Yes, that can lead to a similar situation, however the shock loading on the gears may not be as extreme in that case, because generally the traction control will cut in at lower engine speeds, rather than on the 6000rpm limiter. While this may not be as dangerous, there is still some risk. I would recommend turning TC off if you are going to be driving hard and expect to loose some traction

This one was bent.. not quite as f*cked as that one!

The cams on this head were good, but the head cam journels.. fail!

Its actually turned it into a black paste on the journels.. obviously this ending was not killed when it happened.
