But with the old motors how will they comply with the emissions targets.

So no more turbo terri?

Turbo Territory Ghia is still available, but the standard Turbo Territory is no more.

The facelift is fairly basic, however there is alot more standard equipment throughout the range.

Third Row Seat is standard on TS and Ghia Models, Colour Coded Bumpers are standard throughout the range, Ghia comes with Alpine DVD system, the Interiors are charcoal in colour with the option of Cashmere trim now, TX is standard with alloys and cruise too.

The Update is simply SY Mk2, so they've basically done what they did with BF Mk2 - bugger all mechanically. I also believe they are using up the remainder of the Barra 190 engines they have stockpiled. I've spoken about manufacturer commitments previously, this would be the result of another commitment that would cost Ford Aus too much money to just throw away.

Yep, it looks pretty much the same.

As far as the engine stockpiles go, the customers don't care, any any savings in upgrading the stockpiles motors will most certainly be eaten up in lost sales. As far as the customer is concerned, they see Ford dishing out a less powerful, less fuel efficient motor than they have available in the Falcons. Why the hell don't they offer LPG and be different than the rest of the crowd? Aand having the TT as Gia only puts it out of reach of some customers.

No wonder people are buying the Daewoo Craptiva instead.

I don't think that using old engines will hurt them too much, not too many territory buyers would have much clue on that topic. And from the ones that do know only a part would actually walk away because of an old engine. Few lost sales probably cost less then a stockpile of engines.

The fact that Captiva is selling better then territory just goes to show that majority of buyers are clueless, they are more interested in equipment and looks then engine.

The new Territory is a blink and you'll miss it facelift, the TT an G6X is dumped, they elected not to do a LPG Territory, no diesel and they're still using the old BA II motors!

What The!

How can they harp on about the nees to save money, etc, yet they insist on making 6 versions of the same motor. Surely it would be cheaper to put the current FG motors into the Territories, rather than continue to produce two old versions as well. Not to mentiont the fact that it'll turn people off buying, especially when Ford admits this is a stop-gap until an all new Territory next year!

The engines are BF spec, and they couldn't upgrade to the FG engines due to emisions laws. No new vehicle introduced after July 31 2008 can go on sale unless it has a Euro 4 spec engine, unless they can be granted an exemption to carry over the existing engine, as long as it is untouched. Ford have been granted the exemption and can continue with the old engine until July 31 2010. They must then switch to a Euro 4 spec engine. The FG is not Euro 4 compatible, but because the FG was released before the cutoff date it was allowed to go on sale in Euro 3 spec. Ford have had no choice but to continue with the same engines. There are no stockpiles of old engines either, they are still built to schedule every day.

Both Falcon and Territory will gain near identical Euro 4 spec engines 2nd quarter next year.

F6X was a failure and had to be dropped, they couldn't even sell 200 of them when the original sales plan was to sell 600.

If the new (revised) TTG uses the BF spec motor, does that mean it runs the same turbo and rods as the BF?
