I'd say so.

I looked at one yesterday. If you can pick the differences, you're doing good. They didn't even upgrade the interiors. They claim to have improved fuel efficiency, but without the FG motors, etc, I can't see how there'd be much of an improvement.

Im glad we have people like Venomxr6 and Bunna on the forum, guys who actually work on the production line and have a better understanding of why such decisions are made because there is a lot of here-say and speculation being thrown around all the time. These guys do a good job of clearing it up.

I reckon if you can do a better job of running Ford Oz, put your resume in

Thanks Mate! Glad to be of use! Although I don't actually work "on" the production line, I'm an engineer working in production.

Unfortunately there are a lot of misinformed rumours around, and the media certianly doesn't help with any factual info (that's right cars guide, I'm lookin at you!).

Things have been really tough, but there's still some goodies in store. I'm always on the lookout for threads like this, cause its all exciting to help you guys out with some info from the "inside" perspective. And as I mentioned in the "squeak and rattle" thread, wherever it is, you guys can even help me out!

But yeah, new terry next year, but the current facelift was definitely a neccessary and worthwhile upgrade (its definitely a better package). Marin Burela was very upset that we basically let everyone else come and play in the segment we owned back in 2004 - so whilst the SY Mk II is a bit of a bandaid, the cavalry is coming.

I am holding off upgrading the wife's TTG for a new TTG, as long as it has the FG motor and ICC.

It would be nice of Ford got into the 21st century and put LED's and HID's in their cars, as it really annoys me that my car does not come standard with HIDs.

Bunna and insights if the TTG will have my wishes next year ?

Also when is the planned release ?

Just a quick question here rather than starting a new topic.

Does anyone know why the new Turbo Territory’s have not been upgraded to the 270 motor?

Cheers

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Based on current TTG sales numbers I doubt wether it will continue into the all new Terry. I'd say the diesel will most likely be the only turbo, but I'm just making assumptions, its still way to early to know.

The reason why TT sales are so low, is that Ford won't sell them! My old man just spent the last few weeks trying to get a new one, but there isn't a dealership in NSW (or Australia for that matter, according to Ford Australis) that has one for people to see. Every dealership visited tried to talk him out of a TT, bagging it, saying it had sh*t fuel economy, etc. The best he was told, was that if he ordered one, he may get it in 6 weeks, but there's not guarantees, as customers we waiting longer for other cars, with delivery dates continually pushed back. Not one dealership phoned him back or followed up his visit (not bad when you consider he went it saing 'I want to buy a TTG'). He spoke to Ford Australia, who again tried to talk him out of a TT, baging the fuel ecomony, etc. They suggested ge look at the Ghia as they are the same as the TTG, but without the turbo, he said OK, where can I see one, and tghe answer was, we don't have any of those either!

He gave up and bought a Nissan Murano, 195kW with the 380z motor, $55k and more kit than a Territory could ever dream of.

So Ford, it's pretty simple, if you don't want to sell the cars to people with the cash to spend, then don't complain when sales are down.

By the wau, Ford OZ pretty much told him there wouldn't be a TT in next year's line-up.

They are built to order, and Ford don't have demos. But in saying that sales must be increasing a bit as we are running more down the line lately.

Why didn't he just insist on ordering one, he must be pretty easily talked out of it if he didn't end up getting what he wanted.

Because he wanted to see one, and drive one.

He was also discouraged by the dealerships telling him how often delivery dates got put back, and the fact that they already had customers who'd been waiting months for Ghias and TTs.

Like I said, every dealer and Ford Aust spoke negatively about the TTs. They really didn't want to sell them. Not to mention the off hand, couldn't be bothered serving you attitude from every Ford dealer he visited. Where as Nissan couldn't do enough to help, even offering a loan car until the new one arrived.

My point is, here's Ford strugling to make sales, yet they just don't appear to want to look after customers.

Its a bit perplexing isn't it, the attitude of some dealers. Selling cars makes them money, don't they want to make money?

But in saying that demand is out doing supply of the Territory at the moment. Dealers are screaming out for stock.
