With regards to the internet, What ever happened to his promise to get australia inline with the rest of the worlds internet speeds? we are still the slowest country in th world!

Internet censorship sucks arse! I CAN DECIDE WHAT I WANT TO LOOK AT, NOT SOME SNOTTY NOSED POLLY FROM A.C.T.

Another thing is I haven't met a single person that, A: voted for Rudd, B: LIKES Rudd, C: has been helped by Rudd!

He is still trying to buy votes, especially coming into the xmas with his family payment of $1000 each (or whatever it is)

IMHO he is in trouble and he's a quickfix type person, "sh!t we're in trouble here, quick give everyone some money!!!"

Opinion polls can be rigged. For example, yesterday's polls (more than likely conducted in Labout heartland) show's Rudd is very popular, however, the Telegraph polled marginal seats which showed overwhealming dissatisfaction with Rudd.

No one could seriously say Rudd has done a good job. As Turnbull pointed out, Rudd is the only world leader who has made the local situation worse during the finalcial crisis.

Cooperation and Development (OECD) is predicting that Australia will be one of only a few countries to avoid a recession in the current global downturn.

The Paris-based organisation forecasts that the richest economies in the world will shrink by a collective 0.4 per cent next year.

The half-yearly report predicts that 21 of the 30 member economies of the OECD will go through a protracted recession of a magnitude not seen since the early 1980s.

But Australia's economy is likely to avoid the worst of the financial meltdown, with predictions it will grow by a relatively healthy 1.7 per cent.

That is only slightly less than Treasurer Wayne Swan's prediction of 2 per cent growth.

"These forecasts are encouraging, but I think what the OECD has confirmed [is that] we are facing extremely difficult global conditions," Mr Swan said.

TJ, mate - this is actually a bit of a hokes!

The OEDC only reports on government offered information.

In fact it is feared by many local people (aust business leaders, and even other pollys) in the know that we will end up there also... Once we take into account the coming lack in GST from xmas sales, and many large company write offs...

I hate to say it but at this stage from what I have seen, read and heard, it all looks like it will be a cross in the box for Australia as well - I HOPE MY FEELINGS ARE WRONG, but it looks like we will end up sh*t creek without a paddle or even a boat - as we wont be able to afford it...

What's your point? Are you trying to say this is because of Rudd and Swan, or because of the Unions? The same group who want to reintroduce the very same unfair dismissal laws that caused high unemployment during prosperous times, during what is widely accepted as one of the worst economic melt downs in history.

Or is it simply because the previous Government put us in a good position. A position that Chairman Rudd appears hell bent on destabalising through poor economic management.

The way Krudd spends money is like a kid in a candy shop - doesnt really know what he wants, but will just get a bit of everything 'to sweeten his tooth' until there is no money left...

And his plans are like a kid with a new box of Lego - all shiny and pretty, and just start putting bits here and there with out any plan or idea what his doing, end result - look sh*t, and serves very little if any purpose at all!

Krudd!!!!

My point has nothing to do with unions. As you pointed out tmac this is one of the worlds worst economic melt downs and what I was trying to point out is that we still have our heads above water. I am not saying we are all rosey but it could be a hell of alot worse. Yeah the prevous government did put us in a good ecomonic position thanks to our local resources boom but they did not face anything half as bad as the current GMC.

Krudd has come out today and mentioned the budget D word ( deficit ) today as an adjunct to the economic stimulus package.

Apparently to be "spent" as opposed to invested on infrastructure projects. Alas no mention of what these will be.

We all know historically any Labour derived deficit will last for more than one budget cycle, brace yourselves here we go :crybaby:
