I was thinking of driving one this week as I have never done so.. I just feel a little bad taking a car out without the definate intention of buying it, it is one of a few I'm looking at but really want to be sure about an auto first..Iconic Bionic: Are they really that good? whats your opinion? how would you rate it? pro's cons? All depends on what you want the car for?If you want a fast car down the 1/4 mile, the auto is much quicker...If you want a fast car around the track, the manual is better...I beg to differ re: the auto is a much better option. The T56 is an exceptional manual trans, and if you are looking at a manual, it is hard to go past... I have been in the autos and think they are unreal... However, I wanted a manual, as I wanted to drive the car and not just floor it... Yes, I know you can drive them as a manual, but its not the same...I had an XR8 in an auto, but much prefer driving the manual, especially in a turbo... If I had an 8, I might go back to an auto... But for the moment... The manual is a much more enjoyable drive and provides me with the opportunity to become a better driver... Its not as hard to run down the 1/4 and get a good time with an auto, so the manual provides more of a challenge... Drive them both and make your decision. Dont let someone else make it for you. You are gonna be the one driving the car!!!

The 6spd autos are very nice and smooth with good ratio for performance driving. Only downfall with the 6spd auto is you can only use genuine ford trans oil in them and its about $400 per fill. I personally like the manual in the 8 and the auto in the t. V8s just sound sh*t in an auto as theirs nothing like the sound of an 8 on full song with the manual gear changes in between. With the auto what has to been done so it can handle that sort of power? And after its tuned what sorts of things can I expect to have to do to maintain the gearbox?
