A factory sunroof is always going to enhance resale, aftermarket probably doesnt add, and sometimes may even reduce resale.

Get a Ford one if you really want one.As per the speedo recalibration ... I don't think I've owned a car yet that has a spot on speedo reading so it really shouldn't matter too much. I wanted 18s but beggars couldn't be choosers in my case. The Phantom on offer had 17s. I like the idea of being able to pick a nice set of 18s when I'm ready. I will also change to 18" wheels after looking at them again today at my dealer, they do look kinda nice ..I wonder how much more expensive 18" tyres are against the 17" ones?Frosty

Make sure you look into it Frosty as the price for 18" wheels & tyres can be considerably higher than 17".You have to weigh up the look against the ongoing cost as well as any hit you may take on the insurance for the bigger wheels.MavSS

I was meant to get it on the 10th - 15th Dec....but no....then it was the 18th....but no....then it was the 27th....but no. Still waiting for parts for the sunroof. Then my salesman goes on holidays. He's back tomorrow and I will be paying him a visit. I'm getting told two stories. The 1st FPV have not closed down for Xmas and have a skeleton staff still workings on cars....the other FPV and Ford are closed down until the 13th Jan with no car deliveries. I hope you do get your car when they say you will but don't hold your breath. Alot of us have had many delays and I'm not the 1st to be waiting on a sunroof. I am so pissed off because I was told I would definately have my car for Xmas so I sold my car 2 weeks prior so I would have sufficient funds for my Turbo. Now I have no car and have to borrow one when I need to go somewhere.Morale of the story......don't believe in delivery dates.

Guest 56Mainline Guests Posted 05/01/03 08:54 PM Share Posted 05/01/03 08:54 PM Just quickly in reply to some of the questions asked above (based on what I've found in the past 3 weeks of organising my novated lease XR6T....):Price of tyres as fitted: 18" - approx $500 17" - approx $250I suggest getting the 18" spare with the 18" wheels option (18" spare only $380).Fleet discounts: The value of this varies from company to company, whether the are entitled to national or state of local fleet discounts, companies buying power, dealer earned factory discounts (based on sales & achievement of targets), etc. For instance, I'm on a National Fleet Discount is a company with approx 2000 employees (so it's a relatively small company) - give's me $5440 (incl GST) off the $43965 rec retail for manual turbo (12% discount). Then it's up to your negotiation skills to better the deal further - pit dealers against each other...be prepared to buy elsewhere to your local area & let them know that. Hell, I visited dealers & obtained quotes (& then challenged them to see who needed the business more) from Taree to Muswellbrook to Sydney to Wollongong. For a popular car like the XR6T it's worth it.This last bit will kill some of ya's.......Placed order for XR6T with premium sound, 18", cloth interior, sports steer, & other factory options, on afternoon Fri 3/1/03 after negotiating Jan '03 build with confirmed delivery 28/1/03 !!!! Remember: you can get the car serviced by ANY Ford dealer no matter where you buy the vehicle from. And for Richdave: talk to your lease company or get your company's manager of fleet leases to do it, & tell the lease company that your company is not satisfied with the level of service provided by the lease company's preferred dealers re delivery dates & that this reflects directly on the level of service provided by the lease company. Threaten them...if this is their standard of service then perhaps your Company will need to look elsewhere for a more flexible service provider.Don't accept their bull***t. It is your money, you are paying for a service, if they don't provide to yours or your company's satisfaction, tell them you'll find someone who will. This DOES work. Lease companies don't want to lose business...it is too competative a market.I wish you well in improving your delivery dates etc..
Guest 56Mainline Guests Posted 05/01/03 09:44 PM Share Posted 05/01/03 09:44 PM There wasn't a Jan 1, 2003 price rise. There will be a 2% price rise from Feb 1, 2003.Not aware of any further rises during 2003....but why wouldn't they...everyone else continues to dip into our pockets......but I'm not seeing the pay increases to balance it all out!!!!Oh well, back to the salt mine.... :(
