Guest Guests Posted 09/11/08 01:37 AM Share Posted 09/11/08 01:37 AM Mod the T first Dan or you'll be driving round in a stocker forever Na just kidding mate. The only advice I can offer is to go in to as many jewellers as possible & pick something that you think she'd like. Look at the price after you choose & you'll either be happy or in tears! Happy hunting

The response I got was "Do what every you want I didnt ask any one"You might wanna ask her mother or another rello after you ask her dad what she likes or walk past the odd shop and see if she stops ans shows you what she likes
Guest Guests Posted 09/11/08 07:25 AM Share Posted 09/11/08 07:25 AM They always said a months salary is the guide but I went for two instead. I did read earlier someone said it was three - I reckon the girls are pushing that up with their gossip sessions. Anyway ya shouldn't overextend your finances on something as superficial as a diamond ring.I didn't give my wife a choice, I picked it out cos I was paying for it and if she didn't like it well that was just gonna be too bad. I did take her sister for a preview but wasn't going to back down. It's not about the size of the diamond, it's about the commitment in my book. I did go for a quality diamond though and ten years on I haven't heard her complain once. She knows I'd pawn it if she did I suppose. I got more important things to worry about than whether the missus has got the right size/shape diamond on her finger and two months worth of 12 hour shifts in 40 degree heat was about as much sacrifice as I was going to make. That's just me though, I aint a romantic, I don't do Valentines Day or buy flowers or any of that money wasting sh*t. Mothers Day is a must though but you aint there yet!If you give her a choice it's gonna cost you more in most instances - always does, but no one person's opinion should influence you Dan. You'll do what you reckon is the right thing or what you believe to be the right thing. After all you're the one who knows what makes her tick right!Just my thoughts on a Sunday afternoon.Good luck with it and congratulations

Cost $1200.00. When I got it back I had it valued for insurance and it's Aussie retail value was $9,000.

If she add that I'm in trouble.
