Doogstar Member 276 Member For: 18y 1m 27d Posted 08/11/08 02:16 PM Share Posted 08/11/08 02:16 PM First there is the engagement ring, then there's the wedding ring, next is the suffer ring. heheCongrats mate, I am sure she will be rapt with whatever ring you get her as long as it's not too el-cheapo. About 3-4K should do it (geez that could buy a lot of mods), Maybe take your Mum or your sister (or someone else with good taste) along to pick it out (if they can keep a secret that is), DO NOT take her best friend though, it will end in trouble. Europe trip xmas, blah blah, (she was over there at the time living after 3 yrs here in Aust of being together..)...Anyways, long and short verson - location is some what important to the extent - somewhere she will remember... doesnt need to be at the top of Mt Everest, but somewhere she can remember see a pic of or something and feel special and as they say 'warm and fussy' all over again!ie - Sydney Harbour somewhere if u lived here, Melb Yarra River somewhere, Brissy on the water- etc... u get the idea (well that the advise I got from about 12 of my close friends that just all happened to be females).... Otherwise as a xmas pressie or something like that.. bday maybe...As for $$$ - if you have been together for so long Im sure she will be understanding of whatever $$$ u spend... but as Maximus said, it was a rule of thumb for it to be about 3 months wages! (times have changed, so splash out on more, others less)...Desing it yourself, but if u want to keep it a suprise and worried about if she will like it or not, just see if u can get her to comment on a friends ring, or family... maybe just walk past a shop and look at a watch - glance at a ring and make a random comment about it being ugly or nice or something and see what she says... then start a convo up about the rings... then move on... dont speak of it again until u put it on her finger! Whatever u do... Good luck mate, and just remember they say its the little things that count, so GO FOR IT!All the best!!!!!!
