Yeah that is true. Still better than nothing though.

Shannons are "Australia Alliance Insurance Companies" which is also known as "Australian Pensioners Insurance" according to my home loan documents.

Yep!

Which infact means.....

Drum roll......

AAMI!!!

Forget it, pull your car off them and send it over to GIO or Allianz...

Either myself, or Da Gurly will post a bit of a topic about Insurance companies in the coming days... We are having MASSIVE issues with AAIC/AAMI (Promina Group).... in the process of talking with the IOS and taking things further to state goverment, there will also be a number of other 'name and shame' type exercise we will setup which all will be welcome to add their thoughts and feedback... Looks like the goverment might just be interested in some of this info... (Can't disclose to much info just yet as we will be seeking legal advise as to just what we can and cant do with this)...

Just as Shannons have proven with this thread!

Keep us posted!

FYI - most of the banks and Insurance companies are underwritten by others... I have doco's here and will post the details and 'family trees' in the coming days!

I've had no problems( fingers crossed) with Shannons and been insured with them for 15yrs now. Made 1 claim with my other car, parked at the front and broken into. The window was smashed and all the sound system was taken( sub and box, front and rear speakers, head unit, 2 amps, equalizer, c.d's ect.) had no problem with the claim and got paid out.... :msm:

yeh I am insured through shannons as well. If I had just a normal t I would have gorn with aami as they were 300 bucks cheeper but I needed an aggreed val of $25k (well sort of aggreed they told me that's all they would cover it for ) They just dont feel right shannons and I will be looking around over the next few weeks. On another note I had a car that was written off but through a 3rd party claim( my car wasent insured the guy at fult was) they paid me the aggreed amount, less what the salvage amount was but the car was still mine. I went to pick up the car as I was going to repair it and RACQ had taken it, sold it and taken MY rego money(REMBER I WAS NOT INSURED WITH THEM SO THE CAR WAS STILL MINE AS WAS THR REGO) so now I will pass it to the cops and the person that sighned the paper work for the tow and sale will be charged. SO DONT TRUST ANY INSURANCE COMPANY no matter what.

I am with Shannons for both Car and Home / contents.

My certificate states that my car is kept under a carport, I dont see why they cant just ammend your contract of insurance to state that its kept under a carport?

Bizzare!, I'd understand for an expensive collectable / sports car, the requirement for it to be locked in a garage, but for a daily driver this needn't be so.
