Excellent mate. Just noticed we are neighbours. I have a wr450f and that's killing my butt also. need thicker pants I think.

We won't tell everyone how good it is out this way. Otherwise they'll all want to move in and spoil the serenity. (There was a WR and an XR tooling around next door to me on Sunday arvo).

Push bike shorts under your riding gear helps. So does the 'Monkey Butt" powder from Ballards :rtfm:

Where does the Pope chose to stay when in Australia ? " Kenthurst". Just glad that he didn't stay in THE SHIRE. Never would have heard the end of it.

What is your butt doing on the seat. Get up on the pegs and ride harder. I was taught that when ever im riding to always be on the pegs and never sit down. Espically for trail riding. I have just sold my WR450F and was looking at the 09 KTM's, wow they are a great bike. My mate has a 08 450 ktm and we used to swap, I never wanted to give it back to him it just felt about 40kg lighter.

Mate, been riding trails for 40 years, deserve to have a bit of a sit down occasionally. I used to know one speed - flat out. Now sometimes its good to slow down and look at the scenery.

That's one theory, eventually you have to sit down though. Ideally you do both, constantly on the move, sitting into it on corners, standing over the rough sh*t.

If you're looking at the 09 KTM, take a look at the 09 Husaberg. Great looking, trick bit of gear. They're tipped to be the future of dirtbikes, fuwl injected, 70 degree, downward facing motor, plastic subframe. The only reason I didn't get one was the whole first model thing, and Husaberg's reputation for poor resale value. Then again, the new Kato is pretty awesome

Where do you guys ride?

I'm a member of Oyster Bay MCC. They do a fair bit of trail riding, MX, Enduro, Sprints and Cross Country. We ride all over the place, Clarence, Nowra, Mt Kembla, Colo, Wattagans, Wattle Flat, etc. I also do the odd state sprint/cross country at Cessnock, Gwandalin, etc.

Being in a club is the best way to make sure I get some riding time. Plus you don't have to go through all of the hastles of arranging times and getting all of your mates together for a ride. That said, I'm taking the day off tomorroa to go for a trail ride with my brother around Mogo.

If I ever got another bike Definitely KTM.
